Dermal Fillers Aftercare

Amore Aesthetics Dermal Fillers Advice and Initial Aftercare

Please take time to read the below dermal fillers aftercare advice:

Injectable dermal filler treatment is simple and generally relatively pain free. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are certain preparation and aftercare requirements to ensure the best results. The most common after-effects of dermal filler treatment are swelling, bruising and redness. By avoiding certain activities, you can avoid the onset of these effects. We want to help you achieve the best possible results, so please follow these aftercare instructions carefully.

What to do after your treatment:

  • Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours. This will help to prevent infection.
  • Apply ice packs to the treated area for 15-20 minutes at a time, several times a day, to reduce swelling and bruising.
  • Sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights. This will also help to reduce swelling.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours. This can increase blood flow to the area and cause swelling or bruising.
  • Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, and blood-thinning medications for at least 48 hours before and after treatment. These can increase your risk of bleeding and bruising.
  • Wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, even on cloudy days. This will help to protect your skin from sun damage, which can cause premature aging.
  • Avoid smoking. Smoking can slow down healing and increase your risk of complications.
  • Don’t use saunas or steam rooms for at least 2 weeks. The heat can cause swelling and discomfort.
  • Be gentle when cleansing your skin. Avoid using harsh scrubs or products.
  • Contact Amore Aesthetics immediately if you experience any signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, pain, or pus.

What to expect:

  • You may experience some swelling, bruising, and tenderness after your treatment. This is normal and should subside within a few days.
The results of your dermal filler treatment will not be immediately visible. It can take up to two weeks to see the full effects.
  • Your results will vary depending on the type of filler used, the amount of filler injected, and your individual anatomy.

Additional tips:

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Eat a healthy diet to support healing.
Get enough sleep to allow your body to heal.
