PRP & PRF
HAIR RESTORATION
SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN HAIR GROWTH
MAKE APPOINTMENTPRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a scientifically proven hair growth treatment that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood, specifically platelets that are rich in growth factors to stimulate hair follicles and rejuvenate scalp tissue.
PRF HAIR RESTORATION TREATMENT
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) again uses a portion of your own blood, it is a second-generation platelet concentrate that contains platelets, white blood cells, stem cells, and a fibrin matrix. PRF is longer lasting, it is spun at a lower speed to maintain stem cells and fibrin formation.
TREATMENT PROCESS
A small blood sample is taken from your arm. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge machine to separate the platelets [PRP/PRF] from the blood. The PRP/PRF is then injected into thinning areas using fine needles and or using a microneedling pen. 3–4 initial sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, then maintenance every 3–6 months are recommended for optimal results.
KEY BENEFITS
- Studies show significant improvement in hair count and density
- Growth factors extend the anagen phase and improve blood flow
- Thicker strands and denser scalp appearance
- Minimal side effects, uses autologous blood
- 100% natural
SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE
Randomised Controlled Trials: Significant increase in hair count and follicle regeneration markers.
Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses: PRP is safe and effective for increasing hair density and reducing hair loss.
Mechanistic Biology: Promotes angiogenesis, inhibits follicular cell apoptosis, activates Wnt/β-catenin pathways.
CONSIDERATIONS & LIMITATIONS
- Best results are for Early to Moderate Hair Loss: PRP won’t regrow entirely bald areas.
- Protocol Variability: Outcomes vary based on platelet concentration and session intervals.
- Temporary Results without Maintenance: Effects may diminish over 6–12 months without ongoing treatment.
KEY DIFFERENCES – PRP vs PRF
| Aspect | PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) | PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) |
| Preparation | High-speed centrifugation with anticoagulant; often double spin | Low-speed centrifugation without anticoagulant; natural clot formation |
| Composition | Platelets mainly; minimal WBCs; no fibrin matrix | Platelets + WBCs + stem cells; dense fibrin scaffold |
| Growth Factor Release | Immediate burst; short-lived (hours) | Sustained release over 7–10 days |
| Biological Advantages | Rapid stimulation; widely studied | Prolonged healing; enhanced regeneration |
| Clinical Implications | Requires monthly sessions; cost-effective | Fewer sessions per year; slightly higher cost |
| Pros | Widely available; lower cost; easy preparation | No additives; longer-lasting effect; richer cellular content |
| Cons | Short-lived effect; more frequent treatments | Less availability; slightly higher cost |
